Spring is here, and that means too many things to me. Firstly, I can go ahead and wear all my warm weather clothes without being judged. ( I wear them throughout the winter anyway).
I can put on opened toe shoes without fear of losing my toes (need to re-adjust budgets to cover pedicures).
Thirdly I can wear dresses that drag on the floor. Like this one :-)
The trick with spring dresses is that you only need about five or so staple ones. You can play around with jackets, cardigans, heels and sandals as well as earrings to be able to create new looks.
As I prepped my closet for spring, I hit up Nordstrom's plus size store 'Encore'. They had over 500 dresses to pick from, that ranged from wedding looks all the way down to beach day looks. The best part was knowing the all the options were available in my size, and go all the way up to size 24.
I settled on this look because you guys don't always get to see me in super laid back casual pieces. This look is my beach day, boat day, river day look. The dress is extremely lightweight while being quality. The print is soft and the fabric is super flowy. While I wore it as a dress, it can also serve as a swim cover up.
To help you get your spring wardrobe together, I listed the dresses I will be rocking this spring below. I will let you know that for spring items I particularly invest in quality dresses due to the fact that I re-wear them SEVERAL times in different ways. Do not be too afraid of the price tag, I am always on a a budget too, but I do not settle on quality.
Have a look at the bottom of the page.
Style notes - I am a size 14, but opted to purchase the 3x in this dress. I wanted it to drag on the floor and have a very very loose fit. I could have gone for a size 2x to be honest.
The dress has pockets in it (yay), as well as adjustable straps so you can wear it lower (eg. If you have on a swimsuit), or higher (Like I did above). The fabric is very soft and light, but it isn't too sheer.
