No matter how easy I make it look, dressing my curves is not a walk in the park. So many times I want to show off the entire body in the tightest of clothes, or I want to wear the highest of heels to appear taller. This spring, I promised myself that I would start to let my guard down, and wear the kinds of clothes that make me happy, and comfortable. I challenged myself to find pieces that I can twirl in, sit in without ever feeling like I was compromising who I am. Let’s be honest, spring is all about showing off your toes, feeling girly in spring dresses and mostly being able to live care free.
As I started the journey of breathing new air into my closet, I started to revisit the brands that I actually have an emotional connection to. I have always shopped at Old Navy since I first moved to the USA (anyone remember the Rugby bunch commercials?), well that is where my love for them started. No matter how far I sway, I always come back to them to find cute pieces that are also incredibly comfortable for my body and my wallet!!!
One of the key things I feel comfiest in are dresses, and so naturally I fell in love with this Chambray number from their spring collection. What I loved about it was that the elastic at the waist does not cut into my tummy. The band at the shoulders doesn’t keep slipping (like most off shoulder pieces do), and for an oversized dress I still feel incredibly beautiful.
I plan to recycle this piece by adding in more accessories and maybe even dressing it up with heels. To help you understand all the ways to re-style this dress for spring, have a look at the collages I put together at the bottom of the page.
Happy spring ladies, and I can’t wait to share more of my casually chic looks with you in the next few weeks
